Worth the Wait

Baby Sam arrived 15 days past her due date. Her mom, May, deserves a pregnancy medal of honor for sure, but it's clear that this baby girl was well worth the wait. I had the privilege of meeting her at nine days new and capturing her visit with her grandmother, who traveled all the way from Washington State to meet her. Welcome to the world, sweet Sam!

Meet Jennifer and family. She is a teacher at a local elementary school who recently expanded her family through adoption. The other teachers at her school wanted to do something special to celebrate this event, so they gifted her with a family photo session to capture this exciting time in their lives.

After days and days (and days) of clouds and rain, the sun came out just in time for our morning at the Ivy Creek Natural Area, and we had a good time telling the story of a little boy surrounded by a sister and parents who love him.

The smile on J's face when he's in his mother's arms says it all - he is home.

Mother's Day at King Family

Take one beautiful spring afternoon, throw in the unbeatable pastoral setting of King Family Vineyards, mix with two sweet sisters and you've got a recipe for one great session. Sammy and Marshall were old pros at this photo-taking business and were full of smiles and fresh-faced beauty.

Some of their portraits will be heading to their grandparents' home as a gift, and I hope they treasure and enjoy the images for years to come.
