Onward and Upward

Ten years ago, my family and I moved to Charlottesville. And while it has been a huge blessing for in our lives, it was tough. Tough to feel like we belonged. Tough to be constantly meeting new people. Tough to find where we fit in. The hard work pays off, but it was work, no doubt about it.

Which brings me to the Bahm family. They - like most of the military families in this country - have mastered the art of moving. Changing cities, changing friends, changing time zones, changing homes. Changing everything. In the service of our country. I am so thankful to have met this wonderful family on their two stops in Charlottesville and wish them all the best in their newest locale. What an honor it was to capture some memories of their time in Virginia.

Cheers to new adventures and old friends! May you relish the journey and find your way back here again someday.

J & Family

Meet Jennifer and family. She is a teacher at a local elementary school who recently expanded her family through adoption. The other teachers at her school wanted to do something special to celebrate this event, so they gifted her with a family photo session to capture this exciting time in their lives.

After days and days (and days) of clouds and rain, the sun came out just in time for our morning at the Ivy Creek Natural Area, and we had a good time telling the story of a little boy surrounded by a sister and parents who love him.

The smile on J's face when he's in his mother's arms says it all - he is home.
